OPTi Digital Handheld Refractometer - Aviation (Refractive Index/FSII DiEGME)

This digital refractometer has scales set to Refractive Index and FSII DiEGME (ASTM D 5006).

Using the RI scale this OPTi refractometer can be used for a wide range of chemicals and their solutions including detergents and essences. However we’ve noticed that many customers within the aviation industry choose this particular model as a convenient and accurate way of determining the concentration of aircraft anti-icing fluids (glycol and additives) when mixed with water prior to applying to aircraft wings to prevent ice build-up during take-off.

To make things easier this OPTi Digital Handheld Refractometer also includes the FSII DiEGME (ASTM D 5006) scale - a standard test method for the measurement of fuel system icing inhibitors (ether type) in aviation fuels.

Scale A is set to Refractive Index (No temperature compensation – requires lookup table form the fluid manufacturer)

Scale B is set to FSII DiEGME (ASTM D 5006)

Scale C is empty: User Defined 

The OPTi Digital Handheld Refractometer - Aviation (Refractive Index/FSII DiEGME) scales are preselected at despatch, but may be reassigned using the scale selection method detailed here.
